Licensed Psychologist | Founder

Sarah Carpenter, Ph.D.

Areas of Specialization: Addiction, Trauma, & Relationship Issues

Locations: Tampa, St. Pete, & Virtual

Accepted Insurance: Aetna, United Healthcare (UHC), Oxford, & Oscar

I enjoy working with adults of all ages who are experiencing a variety of life difficulties and mental health concerns. While I am highly trained to treat an array of psychological conditions, I have a passion for and found my niche working with those struggling with addiction, trauma, and relationship issues. I offer individual, couples, and family therapy. I also facilitate a biweekly men’s support group.

Licensed Psychologist

Laurie Black, Ph.D.

Areas of Specialization: Anxiety, Depression/Mood Disorders, & Trauma

Locations: Tampa & Virtual

Accepted Insurance: Aetna, United Healthcare (UHC), Quest Behavioral Health, Oxford, & Oscar

My clinical training and experience involves over 10 years working at VA medical centers, hospitals, and U.S. military bases, all of which require a high standard of patient care using evidence-based treatments. I am happy to now provide that level of care in private practice. I am trained to treat most psychological conditions, with specific areas of specialization: anxiety, depression/mood disorders, and trauma.

Founder | CEO

Mark Carpenter

After making a splash in Tampa’s tech startup scene, Mark Carpenter began consulting software development teams on how to manage projects using agile methodologies. But his passion for social entrepreneurship and creating something new was always calling. Inspired by the work and impact of his wife, Dr. Sarah Carpenter, he pitched her on the idea of what would eventually become Psychology House.
