Mental health care without the surprises.
A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is a detailed breakdown of expected costs provided by healthcare providers, including psychologists, to help patients understand the financial aspects of their treatment before services are provided. This estimate includes the cost of therapy sessions, assessments, and any other services that may be required. The purpose of a GFE is to offer transparency and allow patients to make informed financial decisions about their mental health care.
How a Good Faith Estimate works
Receiving Your Good Faith Estimate
If you are uninsured or do not wish to use insurance, we will provide you with a Good Faith Estimate within three business days of scheduling your appointment. If your scheduled appointment is less than three days from the day it was scheduled, we will do our best to provide you with an estimate prior to your session. In general, you can expect an individual therapy session to cost between $150 to $200, and a couples session to cost between $200 and $250.
Details included in the estimate
The Good Faith Estimate will typically include:
Initial Consultation Fee: The cost of your first session, where the clinician assesses your needs and begins to develop a treatment plan.
Per Session Fees: The cost for each subsequent therapy session. This may vary depending on the length and type of session (e.g., individual therapy or couples therapy).
Conclusion
A Good Faith Estimate is an essential tool for financial transparency in mental health care, allowing you to plan and budget for your treatment effectively. By understanding what to expect in terms of costs, you can approach your psychological care with greater peace of mind, knowing that you are prepared for the financial aspect of your healing journey.
